Josh used to post on the alt.black.metal Google group, going as far back as 1997. We know that he went by the names God_Haunt and ArcaneBow and searching the group brings up many comments: God_Haunt, Arcane Bow. Content warning for racism, antisemitism, homophobia etc. You may have to be logged into your Gmail account to see all the comments.
However, in searching through the God_Haunt posts, we can also find a third username being used, Augusta1313. We know this because some of the posts are signed-off as ‘God_Haunt’ or ‘gh’ and that all three accounts use the same email, joshl49@mail.idt.net. There are also posts in the rave and grindcore groups.
It is also known that Josh used to post on the Cold Meat Industry mailing list, archived in part here and here - the former being more comprehensively maintained.
All things considered, the impression left on the reader is of a snotty, snarky music nerd who liked to troll his peers. However, at this point, there is still no mention of Velvet Cacoon and so, being charitable, this could perhaps be chalked-up to juvenilia.
